Correspondence shows a month-long Tinder conversation with someone that I never met. I chronologically ordered our entire conversation, consisting of 421 screenshots, and printed this correspondence on a bed sheet. Beyond the subtext of digitally performed identities, this work is about the a-social conditions of modern dating and is a byproduct of dealing with loneliness. It is also about the potentials of connection through modern means. Mundane at first glance, the installation attracted sprawling readers, and triggered dialogue among strangers about their own virtual experiences. I thus feel justified in cannibalizing a private conversation for the sake of art; The bedsheet intervened, it participated in mediating a condition of distances.
